Yesterday proved to be successful on Cheatham Lake in Sycamore Creek. The shad were there from the mouth to about the first major bend. You could use you electronics to see the shad and their depth and use a red eye shad rattle bait or crankbait to catch them. The water temperature was approximately 58 degrees in Sycamore Creek but only 54 degrees in the Harpeth River. I had no success in the Harpeth, which in the past has been very productive for me. Dyson’s Ditch is now off limits due to duck season through February. My advice for the near future is find the shad in as clear of water as you can, see their depth and fish accordingly.
